Healing Weekends

Communion

Healing Weekends provide an opportunity to come aside for personal reflection and renewal of body, mind or spirit. They are open to those of any church denomination, or of none, seeking Christian healing and wholeness.

Healing Weekend One

cry

Is for any in need of spiritual, physical, or emotional healing who have not attended a Healing Weekend at CCHC before.

The weekend begins at 3.45pm on Friday with welcomes and introductions, although you are welcome to arrive any time after 2.00pm. There is a time of quiet worship to settle us into our time away. After an evening meal we have a light session, often exploring our own needs – The Cry of the Heart`.

Chapel

On Saturday morning there is an optional Communion service before breakfast after which we explore the `Timeless Good News` of Jesus. Complete Saviour Jesus is still at work!

This input is followed by space for our guests to notice and process what God is saying to them. The weekend , above all else, is about meeting God so that he can touch and heal, so after a second input exploring the breadth of Jesus` healing work the rest of the morning is a quiet spacious time with God.

Prayer ministry

Saturday afternoon is taken up with prayer ministry when retreat participants are given the opportunity to pray confidentially with members of our experienced ministry team so that issues can be addressed and healing found.

Sitting together

There is time to explore the gardens and grounds or to go for a walk in the surrounding countryside. Our fully equipped Art room is available for you to enjoy and the lounge and library also provide comfortable places for your own relaxation.

After dinner the day concludes with a Christ-centred Meditation and Night Prayer. On Sunday our final Communion service is concluded with anointing as we seal the work that God has accomplished. The weekend concludes after lunch.

Healing Weekend Two

Healing Weekend 2 is for those who have attended a Healing Weekend before and are seeking to facilitate a deeper personal encounter with the Lord who heals.

These words from a guest describe what to expect from a Healing Retreat 2:

"I attended the second Healing Retreat 2 to be held at Crowhurst and found it to be really insightful. There was a lot of content to the course and in order to make the most of the time there was a need for commitment, concentration and work, and much prayer and listening to God. Somehow it was both busy and yet restful at the same time - busy because there was much to focus on and think about but restful because such in-depth focus blocks all other thoughts and life stresses from the mind. All this was helped of course by the traditional wonderful hospitality, accommodation and catering for which Crowhurst is well known!

It is probably important to say what this new Healing Retreat isn`t - it isn`t like Healing Retreat 1 which is more a time of being taken gently by the hand and taken through some excellent teaching and meditation and then meeting with Prayer Minister`s who pray into what ever issue for healing you have brought with you that weekend. Those weekends are wonderful and meet many needs but this new Healing Retreat is for those who wish to go on from there to be deeper with the Lord and learn for themselves to hear Him speak into their lives.

In order to do that we focused as a group for the whole five sessions of the weekend on just one story of healing from the gospels, considering the participant`s roles and identity, emotions, circumstances, and individual journey. And in doing this we then in our own reflective time looked at those same aspects for our own lives; as those in the gospels came to Jesus directly for healing so we, over the course of the weekend, had time and space and were encouraged to come to Him directly for our own healing and in the process to learn ways of being able to continue this in our own busy lives in the world. As an aid to doing this we were given a workbook/journal to use for our notes and thoughts. This journal was entirely personal to us and we could write as much or as little as we chose (I wrote lots!) and there was no pressure to share our thoughts or even to join in with group discussions if we chose not to do so.

So rather than this Retreat being like my previous experiences of being listened to by the Crowhurst Ministry team it was instead learning how to talk to God and listen to Him for myself and it was a special and helpful experience. I heartily recommend it to others."

We look forward to welcoming you to this God given place of healing and renewal.
