Quiet Day - Embrace mystery
- Rev Steve Gendall
In times that are chaotic and uncertain, our human minds grasp for a sense of control.† We sometimes try to make sense of things, seeing things in black and white and establishing rules for how the world should work.† Many situations we see and face, however, cause us to question, like Job, even the goodness of God.
This Quiet Day will be help us embrace a sense of mystery, to rest in the fact we donít know everything about God and His ways, but that even in dark times, we can trust the One who is and can do immeasurably more than we can ask or think.
Quiet Days are for people who are looking for space to recharge their spiritual batteries. The day includes guided reflection on a theme, worship, time for personal prayer and includes a silent lunch.
The day begins with tea and coffee in the lounge, with registration at 10.00am. A silent lunch (with music playing softly in the background) is at 1pm. The day ends with afternoon tea at 3.45pm.
The programme ensures time to enjoy the peace and quiet of the chapels and the beautiful grounds. There is a fully equipped Art Room available to help you to express through painting or drawing what cannot readily be expressed through words. The lounge and library also provide comfortable place of quiet for your own relaxation.
£30 per person payable†at time of booking.†
Includes refreshments, lunch and full use of our facilities including prayer spaces, grounds and our fully equipped art room.
Our charges donít represent the full cost of a stay at CCHC. If, therefore, you are able to make a donation towards the ongoing ministry of CCHC, that would be appreciated.
