Listening to the Heart of God
We have a wonderful, loving 'Abba' or Father God who loves us unconditionally, delights in us and longs for us to know Him better. Many of us have problems relating to Him because of our wounded past and false images of His character. Learning to listew to Him can bring healing. Each of us hears God in a different way which often depends upon our personality. Learning to hear from the heart of God takes time, effort and learning His language. This weekend will offer opportunities to look at different ways that God communicates with opportunities for learning to listen more effectively for ourselves and others. The weekend will include some Ignatian style guided meditation and a practical session when we listen to God for each other.
The retreat begins on Friday with welcomes and introductions at 3.45pm but you are welcome to arrive any time after 2.00pm. The weekend is taken up with reflections and daily worship centred on the theme, and concludes with a Communion Service with anointing on the Sunday morning.
This retreat caters for those seeking a deeper understanding of their relationship with God, and also provides time away in a relaxed and informal atmosphere of comfort and peace to restore and renew us in body, mind and spirit. During the weekend there is time to explore the gardens and grounds or to go for a walk in the surrounding countryside. There is a fully equipped art room for you to enjoy and the lounge and library also provide comfortable places for your own relaxation.
Numbers taking part are usually limited to about fifteen to give plenty of opportunity for worthwhile sharing and prayer ministry should this be requested.
