Banner/Flag Workshop
The Banner/Flag Workshop Day is for those who wish to be liberated in worship with movement, using ribbons or banners, for their own benefit or for use in church groups (with the vicar or minister's permission!). The day will be led by Mavis Williams and Yvonne Taylor.
The Day begins at 9.30am with introductions in the lounge. The first session from 10.00am will be in the large chapel, when we will interpret the words of worship songs in simple movement. We may use pieces of flowing cloth or coloured ribbons to enhance the creativity and do some circle dances.
Between coffee and lunch there will be some instruction on using banners and the opportunity to try them out individually. Later, in groups, we will work out how to use banners or material to interpret some words of scripture or a worship song. Banner worship will continue in a third session in the afternoon. The Day will conclude with a Communion service and hopefully the group will participate and illustrate a song or reading.
A cup of tea will be served in the lounge at about 4.00pm, before departures.
It would be wise to book early, as places will be limited.
N.B. Would those who come please wear comfortable clothes. It is better to have bare feet or socks only for the workshop in the Chapel.
